Experience the grandeur of this Grade I listed mansion, seeped in history and culture. The surrounding estate was granted by William the Conqueror to Walter de Lacy, and in 1354 it was inherited by Thomas Scudamore, as husband of Clarice de Lacy. Two centuries later his descendant John Scudamore built a brick house in the shape on an ‘H’, and it was added to in 1628 by his son John, first Viscount Scudamore. In 1674 the second Viscount Scudamore completed the stunning mansion and you can soak up its history as you ascend the original grand main staircase or dine in its ornate rooms.
